8 Best Scholarships for IT Professionals

Education in IT is prestigious and promising. More and more companies need IT specialists. To attract more applicants, universities and organizations are funding IT fields. We have gathered for you a list of current scholarships for IT students (and separately for female students).

ETH Zurich, Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Program

  • To: Applicants to graduate programs
  • Amount: Full coverage of tuition fees + USD 12,474 per semester
  • Country: Switzerland

ETH Zurich offers the Excellence Scholarship to talented students in a variety of fields. These are mostly engineering and IT majors. The funding lasts for the entire period of study. Documents for the scholarship must be submitted together with the application for admission to the master’s program through a special online service. You will also need a motivation letter and you can get essay help online to increase your chances.

Requirements:

  • Be in the top 10% of students in the course;

Royal Holloway University of London, Computer Science Scholarship

The Royal Holloway University of London offers a scholarship for outstanding students who want to pursue a master’s degree in Computer Science. The scholarship amount partially covers the cost of tuition. If the student completes the year with excellence, the discount is automatically renewed.

An undergraduate degree with a GPA of 4.75 out of 5 or higher is required to qualify for the scholarship. No other documents are required. Applicants apply for graduate school and are immediately considered for the scholarship.

Victorian Institute of Technology, Academic Scholarship Program for New Enrolling Students

The Victorian Institute of Technology Scholarship applies to applicants to undergraduate and graduate programs in Technology and Systems as well as MBAs. The university awards two scholarships with full tuition coverage, two cover half of the cost, and four more covers a quarter.

The remaining 30 scholarship recipients receive USD 3,000 in one lump sum. The discounts are valid for the entire duration of the program, but poor academic performance can result in the loss of the scholarship.

To participate in the program, students must enroll at VIT through VTAC, a special admissions center for Victoria’s higher education institutions. Applicants are automatically entered into the scholarship competition. When they register through VTAC, they are assigned points for their high school GPA, language exam scores, and other criteria. Selection is based on these scores.

University of Sussex, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Postgraduate Conversion Scholarship

  • To: Undergraduate students of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Human, and Social Data Science programs
  • Amount: USD 12 579 per lump sum

  • Quota: 25
  • Deadline: July 1, 2022

All University of Sussex IT students is eligible for a scholarship from the Department of Digital Technology and the Office of Artificial Intelligence. However, students from underrepresented social and ethnic groups – black, girls, and students with disabilities – are considered first for the scholarship award.

You can apply for the fellowship once you have received an invitation from the corresponding graduate program. You can do this online at the official website.

Requirements:

  • Be enrolled in the respective graduate programs in the academic year 2021-2022;

IT Scholarships for Women

Many IT scholarships give preference to students from social groups that are underrepresented in the field. These include ethnic minorities and women. For example, the Victorian Institute of Technology in Australia gives out-of-competition scholarships for women and representatives of Aboriginal peoples, and the University of Sussex also gives preference to women. To apply, you must fill out a form and submit it along with the required documents via email or mail.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or certificate with a GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4;
  • Scholarship application;
  • An essay on “What is IT and why is it important?” of no more than 1,500 words;
  • Motivation letter;
  • Proof of participation in volunteer programs or other community activities.

Dotcom-Monitor, Inc., LoadView Women in Computing Scholarship

  • To: Undergraduate students in Computer Science, Data Processing, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Engineering/Technology
  • Country: USA, Canada
  • Amount: USD 1,000 as a lump sum
  • Deadline: April 1 of each year

Applicants for the LoadView Women in Computing Scholarship must either have already decided on their major and put it in their application letter or have completed one year of studies at the appropriate department. The scholarship can be spent on tuition fees at a U.S. or Canadian university.

The application and documents must be submitted online using the form. The scholarship is awarded once, but you can compete every year.

Monash University, Women in Information Technology Scholarships

  • To: Female applicants for undergraduate programs in IT

Monash University actively supports capable young women who want to study information technology and data analysis. The university provides annual scholarships to help pay for tuition.

You do not need to apply, applicants with a high-grade point average automatically enter the competition.

Adobe Research, Women-in-Technology Scholarship

  • Country: USA, Canada, Mexico

Adobe aims to increase gender diversity in technology and IT through an annual scholarship. It supports girls who are studying artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analysis, computer science, and mobile or web development.

The scholarship is available to female students who have already completed 1 year of undergraduate or graduate studies. In addition to a sum of money to pay for tuition, Adobe offers an internship at the company upon graduation as part of the scholarship.
