Relocating to Alberta for Work? Here’s What You Should Know

If you’re moving to Alberta to work, you’re heading into a great province!  Not only is this area one of the most beautiful in the country, but it’s also incredibly affordable and more varied than you’d expect!

Here’s what you should know about this amazing province.

There’s More Than Calgary and Edmonton

When many people think of Alberta, the first thing that can come to mind is often the cities.  Edmonton and Calgary have created a lot of recognition for themselves, and for good reasons!  These are vibrant metropolitan areas that offer a lot to the province: but there’s more to Alberta than these cities!

St. Albert real estate is far more affordable than either of these locations, and you can find dozens of even smaller towns that have everything from hiking to biking and exploring that you can’t find anywhere else.  Don’t be afraid to leave the cities, even if you have to move to them for work.

Work and Play Can Be Equals

Speaking of leaving the cities for work: there’s no better province than Alberta to learn the importance of a work and play balance!  The towns here are metropolitan tech hubs, but you’re surrounded by beautiful nature and scenery when you step outside of them.

There’s so much to do in every portion of this province that you won’t want to let work absorb your life the way it can in other heavily populated areas.

The National Parks Here Are the Best

If you want to visit Canada’s oldest national park, you can head to the southern tip of the province, where Alberta and Montana meet, and stop at Banff!  This national park has everything from endless fun skiing to gorgeous views and plenty of hiking and biking to be enjoyed year-round.

If you want a less crowded but just as majestic a park, consider visiting Jasper!  This national park is known for pulling in visitors worldwide and has endless wildlife and attractions where you can walk out onto a glacier if you want to.  There’s a lot to find in this park, and it’s an awesome location to visit.

You’ll Never Run Out of Things to Do

Whether you’re in the cities, or you’re out in the countryside: there’s always something exciting around the corner.  There are plenty of ways to have fun in Alberta, from the incredible Calgary Stampede to the endless concerts, shows, and excursions you can enjoy here.

Whether that means skiing in the winter and rock climbing and skydiving in the summer or spending time enjoying a quiet riverside town to finally settle in and write that book you’ve always wanted to write: you can find the time and space to do it in Alberta.

The Weather Will Surprise You!

Many assume that any province in the center of the country will have a rough winter: but it’s not all bad!  Snow doesn’t start until November unless you’re in the mountains, and the summers are warm and comfortable without all of the thick and unpleasant humidity that can be found in coastal areas.  Alberta’s an awesome place to work: but it’s heaven to live in.
