How to Connect a Bluetooth Soundbar to Vizio TV

The VIZIO TV series comes with the best built-in speaker. Although the internal speakers sound good, you may still need a deeper bass and louder sound. Adding an external speaker or sound bar will give you a deeper surround sound. Additionally, you can connect a home theatre system to your Visual TV. There are various options for connecting the soundbar to the Visual TV.

This article will guide you on how to connect the soundbar to Vizo TV.

How to Connect a Bluetooth Soundbar to Vizio TV

Currently, available television televisions come with Bluetooth LED. This is low power Bluetooth. Therefore, it cannot make a successful connection with the Bluetooth sound bar.

However, you can connect your smartphone to your Vision TV. The Bluetooth function on Visual TV works to communicate with the Visual SmartCast app on mobile or tablet. You can use this app as a remote to control your Vision TV from your phone.

How to Connect a Soundbar to Vizio TV using S/PDIF Cable

An S / PDIF cable has two channels for digital audio transmission. One is compressed 5.1 / 7.1 surround sound while the other is non-compressed PCM. This cable transmits high definition sound. Follow these steps to connect the soundbar to your Visual TV via S / PDIF cable.

  • Before connecting the soundbar to your Visual TV, make sure both devices are turned off.
  • Search for “S / PDIF or Optical Port” on your TV. Typically, Vision TV has these ports on the back.
  • Insert one end of the S / PDIF cable into your TV’s audio port.
  • Now, find the S / PDIF port on the back panel of your soundbar and connect the other end of the cable to this port.
  • Connect the sound bar power cord to the electrical socket so that it can be turned on. Also, turn on your Visual TV.
  • Select S / PDIF input on your soundbar by pressing the corresponding button on the soundbar or remote.

You need to turn off the internal TV speaker to connect the external sound bar. To perform this operation, follow these instructions

  • Click the “Menu” button on your Vivo TV remote. The TV screen will show menu options.
  • Click the right arrow button to scroll to the “Audio” option.
  • Next, click the down arrow button and select “Speaker”.
  • You will see the speaker status as “On”. Change the speaker’s position to “Off” by pressing the right arrow button.
  • Now, the internal speakers are disabled. The audio will be sent to the sound bar.

How to Connect a Soundbar to Vizio TV using Analog Cable

An Analog cable is used to transmit analog signals from a TV to a speaker or sound bar. You can connect a sound bar to your Visual TV via analog cable. Follow these instructions

  • Before connecting the soundbar to your Visual TV, make sure both devices are turned off.
  • Find the “analog” port on the back of your Visual TV.
  • Insert one end of the RCA / Analog cable into this port on your TV.
  • Find the “Input 1 or Input 2” ports on the back panel of your soundbar.
  • Now, insert the other end of the RCA cable into one of the input ports.
  • Turn on both the sound bar and the TV.
  • Now, press the “Input” button on your sound bar or its remote.
  • Select TV as the input device.

As before, you need to turn off the internal TV speaker to connect the external sound bar. To do this, follow the steps outlined in the previous section.

You will tap the menu on your TV and turn off the internal speaker. Your Visual TV will automatically send audio to the soundbar.
